Today is so important for us. We are near the 4th year of our site. Actually, we enjoy living deeply so that it is nearly impossible to distinguish the time course. Even so, we experience a warmly happiness when we look back and see that 3 years have passed.
What was Cingeneyiz.org? What was the purpose of the founders? Could they accomplish their objects? It is obvious that Cingeneyiz.org is a reaction. A reaction against despising the creative potential of the people who handle this even on difficult conditions. A reaction against the attempts of prejudices which are based on the pains of former generations!
Unfortunately, human being is expert of circle his brothers and sisters with prejudices and leave them powerless. So your life is limited because of the epithets. And your boundaries which limit your potential are drawn before you are born... We the Gypsies experience this more than the others.
Let’s think about the Gypsy image which is drawn according to the prejudices. We would be a çengi or köçek. We would be a musician but not a virtuoso. We don’t think about the future. We are always happy and wasteful … We don’t like reading books… We are untrusty and unable to stand stress. All these are cornerstones of the picture which is drawn for us. Furhtermore, some of our brothers and sisters concede this nonsense. How many young people’s lives are ruined owing to decline of their work applications because they are labeled as undisciplined, untrusty and lazy. More importantly, so many Gypsies accept the image of the reality changes the reality. Some families don't let their children go to the school and say that they should play their instruments instead of this. This is one of the most important example of this.
Yes, Cingeneyiz.org is a reaction! A reaction in the middle of this dispair! It’s a recover and revival. It is realizing the impossibilities and discovering the hidden capacity. It is a proof that Gypsy image which is transfered from generations to generations, is fake and nonsense.
Cingeneyiz.org has survived for 3 years due to a disciplined works and difficulties. We developed our site day after day and we worked for reaching wider people. These attempts are beyond the carefree and lazy people's purse. These works are done with the discipline and fussiness of an artisan. This is a product of Cingeneyiz.org team owing to their sincere works and efforts.
Cingeneyiz.org is a recovery. It is razing the bad and dark image of Gypsy and joining the philosophy of our commercial nomad ancestors which is our main reality. Cingeneyiz.org is not being dispersed in life. Cİngeneyiz.org is weaving like a basketmaker and ruling the musical notes like musician. Cingeneyiz.org isn't being addicted of something with numb head, fainted eyes and drained heart. Cingeneyiz.org is being awake. It is a social sobering.
Therefore the prejudices don't reflect the facts. Forasmuch Gypsies established Cingeneyiz.og and have kept it alive, than the images which were drawn for us are failed! Cingeneyiz.org realized its assertion with its presence and showed that the prejudices are meaningless.
We know that some people still have some questionsmarks on their minds. Maybe they say that these Gypsies are another kind of Gypsies, they are not the ones we know. No, we are the Gypsies you know. We are the children and grandchildren of the poor Gypsies who sell flowers, shine shoes and beg in despair. This work is done by Gypsies you know.
That is to say, Gypsies are not as they are known!
